Since 2012, Mirakl has been pioneering the platform economy, empowering retail and B2B enterprises with the most advanced, secure and scalable technology to digitize and expand product assortment through marketplace and dropship, improve efficiency in supplier catalog management and payments, personalize shopping experiences, and boost profits through retail media.

Headquartered in Paris with another office in Bordeaux and with offices in 7 countries, Mirakl is recognized as a Great Place to Work company.

With more than 350 people, Mirakl Labs teams are mainly based in France. They work together on a daily basis to develop our roadmap for our 5 SaaS solutions.

They also address the issues faced by our customers and users, responding to various challenges related to new features, scalability, security, and usability.

Mirakl has launched an innovative, market-leading solution designed to bring together all players in the marketplace ecosystem: Mirakl Connect.

As part of Mirakl Connect, we aim to simplify Sellers’ daily lives by offering a Central Hub to grow their business and manage their operational activities (Catalog, Orders, Customer Messaging, etc.), while leveraging the latest advances in AI.

To scale this product and its organization, we are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager (Java) to lead multiple squads and engineering managers, ensuring we deliver high-quality product outcomes consistently, while building a high-performing and sustainable engineering culture.

Your role

Within the Mirakl Connect organization, as a Senior Engineering Manager reporting to the Engineering Director, you will lead a multi-scope engineering perimeter, including managing Engineering Managers and partnering closely with Product and Design.

Your mission is to ensure we ship, keep quality high, and help teams perform in any context without turning delivery into permanent pressure.

You are expected to combine strong engineering leadership, product orientation, and execution excellence.

Key responsibilities

Engineering leadership & management (multi-team/multi-location)

  • Lead and coach Engineering Managers, help them grow their leadership and impact, and support them in their day-to-day management
  • Ensure healthy team dynamics, engagement, and performance across squads (Paris, Bordeaux and remote in France)
  • Drive talent development: career paths, feedback cycles, performance reviews, training plans, and succession planning
  • Contribute to hiring strategy and senior recruitment, ensure strong onboarding and ramp-up for new joiners

Delivery ownership: ship, predictably and sustainably

  • Be accountable of delivery, ensuring commitments are met in both velocity and quality
  • Build the right conditions for teams to perform: anticipate risks, remove blockers, arbitrate when needed, and provide clarity in ambiguous situations
  • Help teams accelerate while maintaining a sustainable pace
  • Ensure reliability of execution across contexts (peaks, incidents, shifting priorities, new constraints).

Engineering vision, processes & operational excellence

  • Define and continuously improve engineering practices: clean code, testing strategy, release management, incident learning loops, observability, and quality gates.
  • Implement or evolve processes that scale (planning, dependency management, cross-team alignment, ownership models), and measure outcomes.
  • Ensure technical decisions are made at the right level, and that the organization is aligned on engineering standards and trade-offs

Hands-on technical leadership

  • Maintain strong technical credibility and the ability to go deep on architecture and engineering choices (Java/Spring, SQL, cloud, microservices).
  • Contribute through design reviews, architecture discussions, technical arbitration, and critical code reviews
  • Be able to step in during complex situations (high-risk deliveries, incidents, performance issues) to support teams and managers

Product partnership & customer impact

  • Partner with Product leaders to shape roadmaps and execution plans, balancing customer value, technical constraints, and long-term sustainability
  • Ensure product outcomes are tied to customer satisfaction and adoption, not just output
  • Drive a strong “product-oriented engineering” mindset: impact, usability, quality, scalability, and time-to-value

Your profile

  • You have significant experience as an engineering leader, including managing managers and leading multiple teams/squads
  • You are recognized for your ability to combine high standards, empathy, and clear leadership, enabling teams to deliver reliably
  • You are comfortable switching contexts quickly and operating across multiple scopes and stakeholder groups (product, design, engineering, operations)
  • You have strong technical proficiency in Java ecosystems (Java, Spring, SQL, cloud, microservices) and can contribute at architecture level
  • You are product-oriented: you enjoy collaborating with PM/Design to make the right trade-offs and deliver customer value
  • You have professional English proficiency (C1)

Ideally, you would be based at one of our Paris or Bordeaux offices or able to come to the Paris office several times per month while working remote.

We welcome collaborators with their diverse perspectives and experiences to power us forward. These often far exceed conventional job requirements and help us create a culture of continuous learning. If you’re ready to join a global leader powering digital transformation for 450+ of the world’s most innovative retailers and B2B organizations, we strongly encourage you to apply to any of our roles, even if you think you’re not an exact match.
We may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions to help streamline our hiring process, including screening applications, analyzing resumes, and assessing responses. While AI helps us work efficiently, all final hiring decisions are made by humans. For more information, visit our AI Guidelines for Candidates and Interviews.
