Job Description

A Tech Strategy and Innovation Lead job description includes developing and executing a technology strategy, identifying emerging technologies, and driving innovation through cross-functional teams to create new products and improve processes. Key responsibilities involve setting innovation goals, analyzing market trends, fostering a culture of creativity, and managing innovation initiatives from conception to launch, while aligning with business objectives. The role requires a strategic, innovative mindset, strong technical leadership, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and lead teams.

  • Strategic planning: Define and execute the organization's technology strategy and roadmap, ensuring it aligns with business goals and drives long-term value.

  • Innovation leadership: Identify and assess emerging technologies, market trends, and customer needs to find new opportunities for innovation.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work with teams across the company to brainstorm, prototype, and develop innovative solutions and new digital experiences.

  • Innovation management: Oversee the innovation lifecycle, including managing budgets, building roadmaps, and implementing metrics to assess the efficacy of initiatives.

  • Technical guidance: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, conduct code reviews, and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.

  • Stakeholder and vendor management: Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to communicate innovation goals and foster a collaborative environment.

  • Cultural leadership: Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation throughout the organization.

  • Technology platform leadership: Manage the evolution and build of the existing technology platform to serve our portfolio of clients

Preferred Experience

What you will bring

Background:

  • 12–15 years of experience in technology-driven roles, with the most recent years spent in a similar senior or functional position.

  • Experience in finance and/or insurance, ideally gained within startup, scale-up, or consulting environments is a plus.

  • Proven ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels, in complex and fast-evolving organizations.

  • Strong business acumen with a track record of driving impact in growth, transformation, or scaling contexts.

  • Senior-level stakeholder management experience, with the ability to engage confidently with executive and leadership teams.

  • Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.

  • Fluent in English.

Skills:

  • Strategic mindset: Ability to connect innovation with business objectives and long-term growth.

  • Technical expertise: Broad technical knowledge across various domains, including experience with areas like AI/ML, cloud computing, and software architecture.

  • Leadership and communication: Strong ability to lead teams, mentor developers, and communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Data analysis: Proficiency in using data, customer feedback, and market analysis to inform decisions and validate new offerings.

  • Agile methodologies: Experience working with and guiding agile development processes.

  • Problem-solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify areas for process improvement.
